Chiranjeevi is an Indian film actor and former politician. From October 27, 2012 to May 15, 2014, Mr. Chiranjeevi served as Independent Foreign Minister of the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of India. Known for his groundbreaking skills, Chiranjeevi has appeared in more than 150 feature films, mostly in Telugu theaters. During his thirty-nine years of film career, he has won three Nandi awards from the State of Andhra Pradesh, one Raghupathi Venkaiah and nine Filmfare South awards. In 2006, he received Padma Bhushan, India's third most noble civil title, for his contributions to Indian cinema and an honorary doctorate from Andhra University. Chiranjeevi started his acting career in 1978 with Punadhirallu. However, Pranam Khareedu was shown earlier at the box office. In 1987, he starred in the Russian dub Swayamkrushi film and was screened at the Moscow International Film Festival.
