Mark Alan Ruffalo is an American actor and producer. He began acting in the early 1990s and was first recognized for his work in Kenneth Lonergan's play This Is Our Youth and the TV series You Can Count On Me. He went on to star in 13 romantic comedies. Going on 30 and Just like Heaven and the thriller Zodiac and Shutter Island; and received a Tony Award nomination for her supporting role in the musical Awake and Sing! in 2006. Ruffalo gained international recognition for playing Bruce Banner / Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films The Avengers, a cameo in Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War , a cameo role in Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. Also in 2019, Ruffalo starred and co-produced Dark Waters.
Spotlight, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Foxcatcher, and Shutter Island have all featured him as a supporting actor. He was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in the 2010 drama The Kids Are All Right. In Marvel's Avengers franchise, he also portrays The Hulk.
