He began his career as a member of the Hot Boys, a rap group that included Juvenile, Lil Wayne, and Turk. The group released their debut album, Get It How U Live!, in 1997. B.G. released his debut solo album, Chopper City in the Ghetto, in 1999. The album was a success, reaching number five on the Billboard 200 and being certified gold by the RIAA. He followed it up with the album Checkmate in 2001. In addition to his music career, B.G. has also appeared in several films, including Baller Blockin' and Chopper City in the Ghetto.
