He says the most important thing he does is serve three girls as a dad,” Bill says. “I enjoy every second I’m blessed to spend with Carissa, Kendall, and Peyton. His beautiful wife’ name is Jamie. He says that, when he can, he and his beautiful wife Jamie go out and mostly really enjoy a round of golf and a good wine.”

He grew up in northern New Jersey and first moved south when he was 19. For most of his life, he thought “down south” was Virginia. Then, he found out about southwest Louisiana and the Cajun life. Between crawfish boils and Mardi Gras, he squeezed in a degree in journalism from McNeese State University in Lake Charles.

Bill began his television career there, too, at NBC affiliate KPLC. Upon landing the weekend weather chair, he enrolled in the meteorology program at Mississippi State University. Then, it was on to Dixie and the state of Alabama. Following a four-year study of the skies over Montgomery, where he worked for WSFA-TV, he applied for a weekend weather position at KENS 5.

“I’ve been privileged to serve the viewers of South Texas since 1996. The most important thing I do is to keep people ahead of severe, life-threatening weather situations. But that’s only at 5400 Fredericksburg Road.

KENS anchor Jeff Brady announced he will be leaving the Tegna-owned station in San Antonio, Texas in March after three years. The 5, 6 and 11 p.m. anchor says the goodbye is bittersweet. While he loves his TV family, his wife and children need him more.

“My wife had intended to move her medical practice and the family to San Antonio within that first year, but her practice instead unexpectedly blossomed in Dallas, and her advisors say moving it now would jeopardize its success,” he said. “Our three fantastic children are growing up without me, so I’ve made one of the hardest decisions of my career. And that is to retire.”

Brady, who previously worked for WFAA in Dallas, joined KENS in January 2016.“I can imagine how difficult a decision this is for Jeff to retire from the KENS 5 main anchor seat,” said Tom Cury, KENS 5 president, and general manager. “It was very easy for us to support his decision to have his family back under the same roof where it makes sense for them.”During his time at the station, he developed a franchise called “People Who Make San Antonio Great.”
