William Everett Preston is an American musician with compositions that include R&B, rock, soul, funk and gospel. Preston was a prominent keyboardist in the 1960s, during which time he supported artists such as Little Richard, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Everly Brothers, Reverend James Cleveland, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles. He rose to fame as a solo artist with hit singles such as "That's Way God Planned It", "Outa-Space", "Will It Go Round in Circles", "Space Race", "Nothing from Rien" and "With you I was born again". Additionally, Preston co-wrote "You Are So Beautiful" which became Joe Cocker's fifth hit. Preston is one of five musicians on the Beatles record in addition to the four band members. Preston continued to record and perform with other artists, most notably George Harrison after the Beatles disbanded, and Eric Clapton, and he played keyboards for the Rolling Stones on many of the band's albums and tours throughout. the year 1970
