Why Did He Kill Cannon Hinnant? Darius Sessoms Motive Explained
Darius Sessoms was charged with first-degree murder.
It was reported that Darius lived next door to the victim’s father. Dorris Lybrand, the neighbor mentioned that witnessed two men had dinner together the night before the shooting, and Darius was seen at his neighbor’s home that day. She also added that she saw the man run-up to the little boy and put the gun near his head before running back to his own house.
In addition to that, she added, at first it looked like he was playing with the kids and never would have thought that he would kill the kids. According to the victim’s father, there was no animosity between him and the neighbor and yet he shot and killed his son.
However, it is still unclear why Sessoms shot the boy. Further, on September 22, Darius’s girlfriend was also arrested in connection with the case and was charged with the felony after the fact.

Who Was Cannon Hinnant? Age And Parents
Cannon Hinnant was a 5-year old American boy from Wilson North Carolina.
He was reportedly shot to death while playing outside his father’s house on August 9, 2020.
Additionally, he was born to his father Austin Hinnant, and his mother Bonny Waddell. According to his mother, the little boy was loved by everyone around.
She also added that he had an infectious personality and loved go-carting and his bike. Further, Cannon also had two sisters aged 8 and 7 years old who witnessed the shooting. However, their names have not yet been disclosed to the media.
Following the death of Hinnant, his grandmother created a Gofundme page where she raised over $815,000 by August 19, 2020.
