Peter Kostis (born December 23, 1946 in Sanford, Maine) is an American golf analyst and teacher who specialises in putting and short game development.
The author, Kostis, is a certified golf teacher who has worked as a member of the Golf Digest teaching team for more than 20 years. Paul Casey, Chez Reavie, Bernhard Langer, Steve Elkington, Dan Marino, Maury Povich, and Mike Schmidt are just a few of the many famous people who have studied under him. Gary McCord and he are partners in the Grayhawk Learning Center in Scottsdale, Arizona, which they founded. Kostis’ major break came in the form of a consultancy position for the 1996 film Tin Cup, which he received through fellow golf player Mac O’Grady.
Kostis began working for CBS Sports in 1992 as an on-course reporter. In addition to his CBS responsibilities, he served as the main golf commentator for the USA Network from 1989 until 2004. He now resides in Paradise Valley, Arizona, with his wife, Sandy, and their two children.
