Isao Aoki is a Japanese professional golfer. He was elected to the 2004 World Golf Hall of Fame. Aoki was born in Abiko, Chiba, Japan. He was introduced to golf while playing golf at Abiko Golf Club as a student. He turned professional in 1964. He won over 50 events at the Japan Golf Tournament from 1972 to 1990, just behind Masashi "Jumbo" Ozaki on the list of golfers with multiple wins at the Japan Golf Tour Best. He won the Japan Golf Tour silver list 5 times in 6 years: 1976, 1978, 1979, 1980 and 1981. His career income was 980 million yen. In 1983, Aoki won the Hawaii Open on the US-based PGA Tour, was the first Japanese player to do so, and the Panasonic European Open on the European Tour. It also won the World Match Play Championship in England in 1978, which was not a European Tour event at the time, and won the PGA Tour of Australasia.
