Lee Grant is an American actress, documentarian, and director. She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Shampoo (1975).
Her father, Abraham Rosenthal, was born in New York, to Romanian Jewish parents. Her mother, Witia (Haskell), was a Russian Jewish emigrant, from Odessa. Lee took the surname Grant after President Ulysses S. Grant. She is married to film and television producer, documentary filmmaker, painter, actor, and stage dancer Joseph Feury. She has two children, including actress Dinah Manoff, with her former husband, screenwriter Arnold Manoff.
Lee’s paternal grandfather was named Fishel George Rosenthal.
