Howard Allan Stern is an American radio and television personality, comedian and author. He is known for his radio show, The Howard Stern Show, which became famous when it aired nationwide on terrestrial radio from 1986 to 2005. He aired on Sirius XM satellite radio since 2006. Stern had his first radio jobs in Boston. University. From 1976 to 1982 he developed his direct personality through morning positions at WRNW in Briarcliff Manor, New York; WCCC in Hartford, Connecticut; WWWW in Detroit, Michigan; and WWDC in Washington, D.C., he worked afternoons at WNBC in New York from 1982 until he was fired in 1985.
