Kyrie Andrew Irving is an American professional basketball player for the National Basketball Association's Brooklyn Nets. He was named Rookie of the Year after being selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with his first overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. A seven-time All-Star member and two-time All-NBA member, he won the NBA Championship with the Cavaliers in 2016. Irving played college basketball for Duke Blue Devils before joining the Cavaliers in 5. 2011 . He won the first Valuable Player Award for All-Star Game 2014. In the 2016 NBA Finals, Irving set a championship record of 3 field points to complete a history of the Cavaliers returning to the Golden State Warriors. After another final in 2017, Irving requested a trade and was transferred to the Boston Celtics. He played as Celtic for two seasons, after which he signed for Brooklyn Nets as a free agent in 2019 .
In 2011, he was the first overall choice of the Cleveland Cavaliers and was voted NBA Rookie of the Year in 2012. In 2013, he made his first NBA All-Star appearance, and in 2016, he helped the Cavaliers win the NBA Championship. From 2017 to 2019, he was a member of the Boston Celtics before joining the Brooklyn Nets.
